My fav free things to do in London are:
Imperial War Museum
Borough Market (lots of free samples to nibble on)
Walking along southbank and popping into whatever exhibitions are going on that day.

There are lots of cheap flights to other European cities from London. Check these sites out. The cheapest flights will be at odd times during the week

Stay in Victoria or Pimico, lots of cheap hotel there like Premier Inn etc....

Westminster Parliament and Big Ben, London Eye - 15 mins walk through Thames river bank

Piccadelly Circus - 15 to 20 Mins walk
Hyde Park - 15 mins walk
St James Park - 10 mins walk (near Buckingham Palace) - bring some peanuts for pigeons and squirrels
Buckingham Palace - 5/10 Mins walk

Buy your travel card after 9.30 am it will cost you £7 per day..... tickets bought before 9.30 are branded as peak ticket and cost almost double.
